زُمَرُbands الدَّسَائِسِintrigues وَالنَّمَائِمْand slanders
زُمَرُ الدَّسَائِسِ وَالنَّمَائِمْ
With every kind of injustice you have been wronged
by bands of intrigue and slander.

And perhaps what you were punished for
was noble deeds and virtues.
لَوْif كُنْتَyou had been فَظّاًharsh لَمْwould not تَنَلْharm

مِنْكَ الضَّعِيفَاتُ الغَوَاشِمْ
Had you been harsh, they would not have harmed
you—the weak, ruthless women.

The cruelest and harshest things one sees
are blows from the hands of delicate women.
