    بعود متلج الصدر

    With a return that soothes the breast.

  4. أضاء الزهر في داري

    وتظلم في نوى الزهر

    The blossoms shone within my home,

    And it darkens when the blossoms are away.

  5. حلى ومحاسن تجلى

    بأحسن منظر مغر

    Adornments and beauties are revealed

    In a most beautiful, alluring sight.

  6. فيا زمرا من الأحباب

    حار بوصفها فكري

    So, O bands of dear friends,

    My mind was at a loss to describe them.

  7. إذا هجمت تروم قرى

    تطير لب من يقري

    When they burst in, seeking hospitality,

    They send their host's wits flying.

  8. لقد آنستم بيتي

    فشرف أنسكم قدري

    Indeed, you have brought cheer to my home,

    So your company has ennobled my standing.

  9. وطفتم في خمائله

    فسادت نفحة العطر

    And you wandered through its leafy groves,

    So a breath of perfume held sway.

  10. يحق لفضلكم عندي

    خراج الحمد والشكر

    Your kindness deserves from me

    A tribute of praise and thanks.
