يَاah! لَهُhis; belonging to him حُلْمُa dream شَيْخٍan elder فِيin مَضَاءِresolve فَتىًa young man
يَا لَهُ حُلْمُ شَيْخٍ فِي مَضَاءِ فَتىً
وَمَاand not لَهُhe has فِيamong ثِقَاتِtrusted authorities الضَّادِArabic, the language of ḍād أَقْرَانُpeers
وَمَا لَهُ فِي ثِقَاتِ الضَّادِ أَقْرَانُ
Ah, his is an elder’s dream in a young man’s resolve!
And he has no peers among the trusted authorities of Arabic.
فِيin مَجْمَعِthe assembly الأَدَبِliterature الرَّاقِيrefined وَصَفْوَتِهِand its elite
فِي مَجْمَعِ الأَدَبِ الرَّاقِي وَصَفْوَتِهِ
أَقَرَّhe affirmed أَنَّكَthat you أَنْتَyou yourself الشَّيْخُthe master جُبْرَانُGibran
أَقَرَّ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ الشَّيْخُ جُبْرَانُ
In the assembly of refined literature and its elite,
he affirmed that you are indeed the master, Gibran.
