لِلْغَرِيبِfor the stranger وَلاَnor صَفَاءْserenity
In exile, where there is no solace
For the stranger, nor serenity,
تَتَقَاذَفُtoss back and forth الآفَاقُthe horizons بِيwith me
قَذْقَflinging (apparent typo) العَوَاطِفِthe passions لِلْهِبَاءْof the dust
The horizons toss me about
As passions fling dust,
وَتُحيطُand surround بِيwith me لُجَجُdeep seas الصَّرُوفِthe adverse turns of fate
فَمِنْso from بَلاَءٍaffliction فِيinto بَلاَءْaffliction
And the deep seas of adversity surround me—
So, from affliction into affliction.
