لكyours يَاO حَفِيظَةHafiza خَالِداتُeverlasting مَفَاخِرٌglories
لك يَا حَفِيظَة خَالِداتُ مَفَاخِرٌ
تَمْضِيpass السنونُthe years وَذِكْرُهَاand their remembrance مُتَجَددُever renewed
تَمْضِي السنونُ وَذِكْرُهَا مُتَجَددُ
Yours, O Hafiza, are immortal glories;
Yours, O Hafiza, are everlasting glories;
the years pass, while your memory is ever renewed.

مِنْfrom عَالَمِthe realm الْغَيْبِthe unseen اشْهَديbehold مُعْتَزَّةًwith pride
مِنْ عَالَمِ الْغَيْبِ اشْهَدي مُعْتَزَّةً
وَطَناًa homeland يُقَامُis erected بِهin it لِذِكْرِكِfor your remembrance مشْهدa memorial
وَطَناً يُقَامُ بِه لِذِكْرِكِ مشْهد
From the realm of the unseen, proudly behold
From the realm of the unseen, behold with pride
a homeland where a memorial is raised to your memory:
a homeland where a memorial is raised to your memory.
شَمَلَتْencompassed مَآثِرُكِyour noble deeds الْعِدَادُnumerous رُبُوعَهُits regions
شَمَلَتْ مَآثِرُكِ الْعِدَادُ رُبُوعَهُ
فَالشكْرُso gratitude فِيهَاin them شَامِلٌall-embracing مَتَعَددmanifold
فَالشكْرُ فِيهَا شَامِلٌ مَتَعَدد
Your countless glorious deeds encompassed its quarters,
Your many noble deeds encompassed its regions;
and throughout them gratitude is all-embracing and manifold.
so gratitude throughout them is universal and manifold.
مَنْwhoever غَابَhas departed عَنْfrom أَحْبَابِهhis loved ones فَلَهُthen he has بِهin it
مَنْ غَابَ عَنْ أَحْبَابِه فَلَهُ بِه
فِيin الآنِthe present moment بَعْدَafter الآنَthe present moment عَوْدٌa return أَحْمَدُmore praiseworthy
فِي الآنِ بَعْدَ الآنَ عَوْدٌ أَحْمَدُ
Whoever is gone from those they love has, through it,
Whoever has departed from his loved ones has, in it,
now and ever after, a most praiseworthy remembrance,
moment after moment, a more praiseworthy return.
أَبْقَىmore enduring منthan الأَعيَانِtangible things وَهْيَwhile they are زَوَائِلٌpassing away
أَبْقَى من الأَعيَانِ وَهْيَ زَوَائِلٌ
أَثَرٌa legacy لَهُit has فِيin كُلِّevery بَارِحَةyesterday غدtomorrow
أَثَرٌ لَهُ فِي كُلِّ بَارِحَة غد
more enduring than embodied beings, though they pass away—
More enduring than tangible things, which pass away,
a legacy whose every yesterday has a tomorrow.
is a legacy that has a tomorrow in every yesterday.
نِعْمَexcellent is الْجَزَاءُthe recompense لِرَبَّةِfor the lady of الصَّونِchastity الَّتيwho
نِعْمَ الْجَزَاءُ لِرَبَّةِ الصَّونِ الَّتي
بِمَثوبَةwith the reward of الدَارَيْنِthe two worlds بَاتَتْshe has come to تسْعَدُshe rejoices
بِمَثوبَة الدَارَيْنِ بَاتَتْ تسْعَدُ
How excellent is the reward for the woman of guarded honor, who
How fine the recompense for the chaste lady, who
now rejoices in the recompense of both worlds.
has come to rejoice in the reward of both worlds.
سُبْحَانَglory be to مُلْهِمُكِthe One who inspires you الصَّوَابَright judgment وَهَكَذَاand thus
سُبْحَانَ مُلْهِمُكِ الصَّوَابَ وَهَكَذَا
لَكِyours فِيin رِحَابِهماthe expanses of both الْبَقَاءُcontinued existence السَّرْمدُeverlasting
لَكِ فِي رِحَابِهما الْبَقَاءُ السَّرْمدُ
Glory be to Him who inspired you to the right; and thus
Glory be to Him who inspires you with right judgment; and thus
within the spacious realms of both worlds, everlasting life is yours.
yours, in the expanses of both, is everlasting life.
