I saw the bride and her peers—

A crescent moon surrounded by stars,

Like a necklace of pearls, upon whose thread

    Dazzling, choice pearls are strung.

And fairest of the women shining there,

Surpassing every radiant woman, is Maryam:

A bride who is the full moon at its fullest—

Yet what is the moon’s fullness when she smiles?
