إِلَىto الصَّدِيقِthe friend الأَبَرmost devoted أُهْدِيI dedicate
إِلَى الصَّدِيقِ الأَبَر أُهْدِي
جَهْدَthe effort of مُقِلَّone with little to give هَذَاthis المِثَالاَlikeness
جَهْدَ مُقِلَّ هَذَا المِثَالاَ
To the most devoted friend I dedicate
This likeness, the offering of one with little to give.
وَلَيْسَand there is not فِيهِin it إِلاَّanything but وَفَاءُloyalty
وَلَيْسَ فِيهِ إِلاَّ وَفَاءُ
شُعَاعُهُits radiance يَمْلأُfills الظِّلاَلاَthe shadows
شُعَاعُهُ يَمْلأُ الظِّلاَلاَ
And in it is nothing but loyalty,
Whose radiance fills the shadows.
