أَوَاصِفٌAm I describing? أَنَاI أَخْلاَقاًvirtues سَمَوْتَyou rose high بِهَاthrough them
أَوَاصِفٌ أَنَا أَخْلاَقاً سَمَوْتَ بِهَا
أَمْor وَاصِفٌdescribing عِلْمَكَyour knowledge الفَيَّاضَoverflowing وَالأَدَبَand refinement
أَمْ وَاصِفٌ عِلْمَكَ الفَيَّاضَ وَالأَدَبَ
Am I to describe the virtues by which you rose so high,
Or describe your overflowing knowledge and refinement?
يَاO مُصْطَفَىMustafa زَادَكَmay He grant you more اللهُGod الكَرِيمُthe Generous وَمَاand there is no
يَا مُصْطَفَى زَادَكَ اللهُ الكَرِيمُ وَمَا
غَيْرُother than الحَلَىadornments مِنْof مَزِيدٍincrease فَوْقَbeyond مَاwhat وَهَبَاHe bestowed
غَيْرُ الحَلَى مِنْ مَزِيدٍ فَوْقَ مَا وَهَبَا
O Mustafa, may God the Generous grant you more; and there is
No increase beyond what He has bestowed, save adornments.
فَاهْنأْso rejoice بِأَرْفَعَin the loftiest مَاwhat أُوتيْتُI was granted مِنْof رُتَبٍranks
فَاهْنأْ بِأَرْفَعَ مَا أُوتيْتُ مِنْ رُتَبٍ
زَانَتْadorned بِكَthrough you النَّسَبَlineage الْمَوْرُوثَinherited وَالْحَسَبَاand noble standing
زَانَتْ بِكَ النَّسَبَ الْمَوْرُوثَ وَالْحَسَبَا
So rejoice in the loftiest of the ranks bestowed on me,
Which, through you, adorned inherited lineage and noble standing.
