كاشفتني من فنه موجزاً
بذلكwith that السرthe secret اللطيفsubtle البديعwondrous
بذلك السر اللطيف البديع
You briefly revealed to me, from its art,
That subtle, wondrous secret.
كمhow many زنتI adorned قرطاساًa sheet of paper بآياتهwith its marvels
كم زنت قرطاساً بآياته
بينbetween شتيتscattered باهرٍdazzling أوor جميعgathered together
بين شتيت باهرٍ أو جميع
How many a sheet I adorned with its marvels,
Whether scattered and dazzling or gathered together!
فشاقنيso it charmed me منهنamong them ماwhat شاقنيcharmed me
فشاقني منهن ما شاقني
فيin روضةa garden منof زهراتblossoms الربيعspring
في روضة من زهرات الربيع
So what charmed me among them was what charmed me
In a garden of spring blossoms:
