شَيّدَاهُbuild it, you two عَلَىupon الْمَحَبَّةlove وَالعِفَّةِand chastity
شَيّدَاهُ عَلَى الْمَحَبَّة وَالعِفَّةِ
بَيْتاًa home بِالْمَحْمَدَاتِthrough virtues رفِيعَاlofty
بَيْتاً بِالْمَحْمَدَاتِ رفِيعَا
Build it upon love and chastity,
They built it on love and chastity
a home made lofty by virtues.
A lofty home of virtues fair
فَإِذَاthen, if كُنْتُمَاyou two are أَساسَيْهits two foundations تَمتwill be complete
فَإِذَا كُنْتُمَا أَساسَيْه تَمت
لَكُمَاfor you both زِينةُthe adornment الْحَيَاةof life جَمِيعَاin full
لَكُمَا زِينةُ الْحَيَاة جَمِيعَا
Then, if you two are its foundations, complete
If you're its base, assured will be
for you both will be life's adornment in full.
