أَتَيْنَا لِلسَّلامِ وَفيهِ عَتْبٌ

أَتَيْنَا لِلسَّلامِ وَفيهِ عَتْبٌ

رَقِيقٌ يَا كِرَامَ المُعْرِضينَا

رَقِيقٌ يَا كِرَامَ المُعْرِضينَا

We have come to offer greetings, and in them is reproach,

Gentle, O noble ones who turn away.

غِيَابُكُمْ مِنْ عَاذِلِينا

غِيَابُكُمْ مِنْ عَاذِلِينا

حَزَازَاتٍ وَأَشْمَتَ مُبْغِضِينَا

حَزَازَاتٍ وَأَشْمَتَ مُبْغِضِينَا

Your absence from those who reproach us,

Bitter pangs, and made those who hate us gloat.
