فَاذْكُرْ أَيَادِيَهُ عَلى العمَّالِ
And when you describe his many ways of doing good,
When you describe his virtues and merits
then mention his benefactions to the workers,
Remember his kindness to the workers

and his struggle against those who exploit their labors,
And his struggle against those who exploit their efforts
materially and morally, with the most oppressive exploitation.
Unjustly and without meaning, the worst exploitation
فَإِذَاthen when وَفىhe pays what is due بِفُضُولِwith the surplus of مَاwhat كسَبُواthey earned لهُfor him
فَإِذَا وَفى بِفُضُولِ مَا كسَبُوا لهُ

عَدَّ الذِي أَدى منَ الإِفضَالِ
For when he pays them from the surplus of what they earned for him,
So when he repays them for the surplus they earned for him
he counts what he paid as an act of generosity,
He counts what he gave as generosity

heedless of the outcome of his greed—and no
Ignoring the consequences of his greed as though
outcome is like the day of the ignorant’s resurrection.
There were no reckoning like Judgment Day

نَجَّى الْهُمَامُ فَرَائِسَ الإهْمَالِ
From what unbearable fang and claw
From which claw too harsh to endure, which talon
the valiant man has saved the prey of neglect!
Did the resolute protect the prey of neglect?

And for a time he spared the wolves of hunger
It is enough up to the day the meadow’s steeds are freed
and the sated predator the horrors of battle,
And the gorged predator, the worst of fighting.

seeking justice for them and preparing
Seeking to do them justice and preparing

For them and the children the best outcome

He cares for their vulnerable children, so they may advance
He cares for their weak children so they might rise
in knowledge, manners, and goodness of character,
In knowledge, manners and excellent traits
حَتىso that إِذَاwhen شَبُّواthey grow up تَقَاضَوْاthey claim حَقَّهمْtheir rights

so that, when they grow up, they may claim their rights
Until when they grow up they take their due
with guidance, and not be among the misguided.
With guidance, not having been misguided
