وَاذْكُرْ لَهُ فَضْلَ التَّعاوُنِ يَقْتَفِي

وَاذْكُرْ لَهُ فَضْلَ التَّعاوُنِ يَقْتَفِي

فِيهِ طَريقَ شَقِيقِهِ المِفْضَالِ

فِيهِ طَريقَ شَقِيقِهِ المِفْضَالِ

And credit him with the merit of cooperation; he follows

Remember his excellence in cooperation

In it the path of his generous brother.

Following in this the path of his noble brother

رَأْيٌ بِهِ إِفْلاَحُ مِصْرَ وَعِزُّهَا

رَأْيٌ بِهِ إِفْلاَحُ مِصْرَ وَعِزُّهَا

نَسَجَاهُ مِنْ بِرٍ عَلَى مِنْوَالِ

نَسَجَاهُ مِنْ بِرٍ عَلَى مِنْوَالِ

An idea that brings Egypt prosperity and glory,

An opinion with which is Egypt's success and glory

They both wove it from benevolence upon a loom.

Woven of righteousness in an excellent manner

عُمَرٌ إِلَيْهِ دَعَا وَأَحْمَدُ لَمْ يَدَعْ

عُمَرٌ إِلَيْهِ دَعَا وَأَحْمَدُ لَمْ يَدَعْ

سَعْياً يَسِيرُ بِهِ إِلى الإِكْمَالِ

سَعْياً يَسِيرُ بِهِ إِلى الإِكْمَالِ

Umar called for it, and Ahmad spared no

Umar called him to it, and Ahmed did not stop

Effort to carry it toward completion.

A slight effort by which to reach perfection

فَالْيَوْمَ إذْ بَلَغَ التعَاوُنُ مَا نَرَى

فَالْيَوْمَ إذْ بَلَغَ التعَاوُنُ مَا نَرَى

فِي مِصْرَ مِنْ شَأْنٍ وَمِنْ إِقْبَالِ

فِي مِصْرَ مِنْ شَأْنٍ وَمِنْ إِقْبَالِ

So today, now that cooperation has attained what we see

So today when cooperation has reached what we see

In Egypt of standing and popularity,

Of Egypt's affairs and prosperity

فَلْيَذْكُ فِي القَوْمِ الثَّنَاءُ عَلَيْهِمَا

فَلْيَذْكُ فِي القَوْمِ الثَّنَاءُ عَلَيْهِمَا

طِيباً كَمَا يَذْكُو نَسِيمُ غَوَالِي

طِيباً كَمَا يَذْكُو نَسِيمُ غَوَالِي

So let praise of them both waft among the people,

Let praise in the people for them both be good

Fragrantly, as the breath of rich perfumes wafts.
