This sun has announced her unveiling,

after the signs had first brought glad tidings.

So every living being welcomed her appearance

with hymns proclaiming God's oneness and greatness.

upon her revealed beauty but those who witness early dawn.

Have you seen morning draw away from her

the night's gauzy curtain from before the bed?

So the veil of darkness fell away, and with it vanished

    the pearls scattered upon it.

each return of hers is a fresh resurrection.

Wherever she looked upon a place promising fertility,

the soil revealed fresh green plants.

    And her glance disclosed blossoms,

tender and fresh, sweet fruit, and fragrant perfume,

    Thick-browed, with jet-black

side-locks, she gazes with a gazelle's brimming eye.

breasts, her skin puts silk to shame.

wine, and has the same effect upon hearts.

melody, with unhurried steps along the way.

If worry draws near him, it is driven away

by the laughter of plants or the birds' gentle calls.

by the field's nurse, in the murmur of flowing water.

    and lengthened their outspread shadows.

nearby—how rare its like among palaces!

as a plant like faceted emerald,
