خَيْرُthe finest الحِلَىadornments مِنْof أدَبٍgood manners وَطُهْرِand purity
خَيْرُ الحِلَى مِنْ أدَبٍ وَطُهْرِ
وَمِنْand of ذَكَاءٍintelligence فِيamong بَنَاتِthe daughters of العَصْرِthis age
وَمِنْ ذَكَاءٍ فِي بَنَاتِ العَصْرِ
The finest adornments—good manners and purity,
The best jewelry is from refinement and purity
And intelligence among the daughters of this age—
And from intelligence among the girls of the age
حِلَىthe adornments of البَنَاتِthe girls فِيin رُبَىthe hills of لُبْنَانِLebanon
حِلَى البَنَاتِ فِي رُبَى لُبْنَانِ
لِلهِto God دَرُّهُنَّtheir excellence (expressing praise) مِنْas بَنَاتِdaughters

أجْمَلَthe loveliest مَاthat which تَحْلَىare adorned بِهِwith it الغَوَانِيbeautiful women
أجْمَلَ مَا تَحْلَى بِهِ الغَوَانِي
They have gathered from the wonders of adornment
They gathered from the finest of adornments
The loveliest things with which beauties adorn themselves.
The most beautiful with which the beauties adorn themselves
هُنَّthey رَجَاءُthe hope of الوَطَنِthe homeland الجَدِيدِnew
هُنَّ رَجَاءُ الوَطَنِ الجَدِيدِ
وَهُنَّand they نُورُthe light of الزَّمَنِthe age العَتِيدِto come
وَهُنَّ نُورُ الزَّمَنِ العَتِيدِ
They are the hope of the new homeland,
They are the hope of the new homeland
And they are the light of the age to come,
And they are the light of the coming time
يَسْطَعُshines brightly مُشْرِفاًrising high عَلَىover الأزْمَانِthe ages
يَسْطَعُ مُشْرِفاً عَلَى الأزْمَانِ
يَقمْنَthey attend بِالوَاجِبِto duty مَهْمَاhowever صَعُبَاit is difficult
يَقمْنَ بِالوَاجِبِ مَهْمَا صَعُبَا
Shining high above the ages.
Shining splendidly over the times
They fulfill their duty, however hard it may be,
They fulfill the duty no matter how difficult
وَلاَand do not يُضِعْنَthey neglect فِيin الحَيَاةِlife مَطْلبَاan aim
وَلاَ يُضِعْنَ فِي الحَيَاةِ مَطْلبَا
بِهِthrough it تَعِزُّgrows strong قُوِّةُthe strength of العُمْرَانِcivilization
بِهِ تَعِزُّ قُوِّةُ العُمْرَانِ
And neglect no aim in life
And they do not fail to achieve any goal
By which the strength of civilization grows.
Through which the strength of civilization is valued
كُلٍّeach لَهَاshe has بِنَفْسِهَاfor herself وَالجِسْمِand the body
كُلٍّ لَهَا بِنَفْسِهَا وَالجِسْمِ
عِنَايَةٌcare عَنْfrom حِكْمَةٍwisdom وَعِلْمِand knowledge
عِنَايَةٌ عَنْ حِكْمَةٍ وَعِلْمِ
Each has, for her inner self and her body,
Each cares for herself, her body
A care informed by wisdom and knowledge,
With wisdom and knowledge
تُتِمُّهَاperfects her فَحْسُنُهَاso her beauty حُسْنَانِtwo kinds of beauty
تُتِمُّهَا فَحْسُنُهَا حُسْنَانِ
لاَnot تَزْدَرِيshe disdains حُرًّاhonorable مِنَamong الأَعْمَالِtypes of work
لاَ تَزْدَرِي حُرًّا مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ
That perfects her, making her beauty twofold.
Completing her beauty beautifully
She disdains no honorable work,
She does not scorn any free work
وَوَقْتُهَاand her time المَمْلُوءُfilled بِالأَشْغَالِwith tasks
وَوَقْتُهَا المَمْلُوءُ بِالأَشْغَالِ
مُتَّسِعٌhas room لأَشْرَفِfor the noblest الإحْسَانِbenevolence
مُتَّسِعٌ لأَشْرَفِ الإحْسَانِ
And her time, filled with tasks,
And her time filled with chores
Has room for the noblest acts of kindness.
Has room for the noblest benevolence
فَبَعْدَfor after حَقِّthe claim of البَيْتِthe household بِالتَّمَامِin full
فَبَعْدَ حَقِّ البَيْتِ بِالتَّمَامِ
وَيَعْدَand after (likely intended) حَقِّthe claim of الحُسْنِbeauty وَالهِنْدَامِand neat attire
وَيَعْدَ حَقِّ الحُسْنِ وَالهِنْدَامِ
For after meeting the household's claims in full,
After the full right of home
And after those of beauty and neat attire,
Comes the right of beauty and attire
حَقُّthe claim of الضِّعَافِthe weak مِنْamong بَنيthe children of الإنْسَانِhumankind
حَقُّ الضِّعَافِ مِنْ بَني الإنْسَانِ
يَاoh حُسْنَهَاits beauty مِنْas خُطَّةٍa course نَبِيلَةْnoble
يَا حُسْنَهَا مِنْ خُطَّةٍ نَبِيلَةْ
Come the claims of the weak among humankind.

How lovely this noble course is!
Oh her nice plan, O beautiful lady
تَغْدُوshe becomes بِهَاthrough it الآنِسّةُthe young lady الجَمِيلَهْbeautiful
تَغْدُو بِهَا الآنِسّةُ الجَمِيلَهْ
مَلِيكَةًa queen وَمَلَكاًand an angel فِيat آنِone moment
مَلِيكَةً وَمَلَكاً فِي آنِ
Through it, the beautiful young lady becomes
Who starts her morning as a queen and an angel in one

We are the vanguard of defenders volunteering
إنَّاindeed we طَلِيعَةُthe vanguard of الحِمَىthe homeland تَطَوَّعَاvoluntarily
إنَّا طَلِيعَةُ الحِمَى تَطَوَّعَا
مُلَبِّيَاتٌanswering مَجْدِهِits glory إذَاwhen دَعَاit calls
مُلَبِّيَاتٌ مَجْدِهِ إذَا دَعَا
We are indeed the homeland's volunteer vanguard,
Responding when glory calls
Answering its glory when it calls,
And guides of its brave soldiers
وَمُرْشِدَاتُand guiding جُنْدِهِits soldiers الشُّجْعَانِvaliant
وَمُرْشِدَاتُ جُنْدِهِ الشُّجْعَانِ
نَحْنُwe مُهَيِّئَاتُpreparers of الاِسْتِقْبَالِthe future
نَحْنُ مُهَيِّئَاتُ الاِسْتِقْبَالِ
And guiding its valiant soldiers.
We are the preparers of receptions
We are the ones who prepare the future;
We are the creators of independence
نَحْنُwe مُنَشِّئَاتُbuilders of الاِسْتِقْلاَلِindependence
