أَلنُّورُthe light وَالنُّوْرُand the light يَوْمَon the day of عِيدٍa feast
أَلنُّورُ وَالنُّوْرُ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ
يُهْدِيoffers إلىَto مَرْيَمَMary الثَّنَاءْpraise
يُهْدِي إلىَ مَرْيَمَ الثَّنَاءْ
Light and light, on a feast day,
The light, the light, on a festive day
offer praise to Mary.
Brings praise to Mary in every way
كَبَّرَexalted فِيهَاin her الْجَمَالُbeauty رَبًّاa lord
كَبَّرَ فِيهَا الْجَمَالُ رَبًّا
صَغَّرَmade small فِيin عَيْنَيْهَاher two eyes السَّمَاءْheaven
صَغَّرَ فِي عَيْنَيْهَا السَّمَاءْ
Beauty exalted a lord within her,
Her beauty exalts the Lord on high
who made heaven small in her eyes.
The heavens seem small in her loving eye
