Of its maker's pride, even if he does not boast.
The pride of its founder, though he is not proud.

Yours, Ali, are patriotic deeds;
O Ali, your patriotic feats are many,
They are many, yet no more than one would expect from you.
Though to you they seemed too few.

If you seek it sincerely, will not prove unattainable.
Every great aspiration, if sought sincerely, is attainable.

Amid plantations and factories, no excuse is left
Between the orchards and factories,
For anyone who falls short, by the proof of your lead.
No sign remains of the shortcomings of the lazy.

Your precedence in progress enhances your merit,
The example it sets for the capable who lag behind.
As an example for the capable albeit latecomer.

You only relied on your soul,
A self it is, sufficient for the greatest goal!
Which sufficed for the greatest of goals.

With it you lead, and you shall not be defeated.

And the resolve in an army’s defense.

Indeed, we have seen within your grounds two signs
We saw in your company the signs,
Of prudence rich in harvest, and fruitful resolve.
Of prudence and abundant success and determined harvest.

You revived a breed of valiant people,
As fertile soil is revived when rain falls upon it.
Like fertile rain revives the dormant earth.

And walked to it steadily without stumbling.

How many ignorant tailored coats,
With embroidery, both patterned and striped!
And sold them between the striped and the checkered.

You secured the sustenance of those hundreds,
You guaranteed the livelihood,
With a bountiful giver's generosity and a manager's thrift.
Of hundreds with your generosity and wisdom.

And you gave them pure water to drink, whereas
You gave them pure water to drink,
In life, we had been given only turbid water to drink.
Their lives knew no bitterness.

The Nile carries food to the plants,
And when clear, it lavishes abundance on humankind.
And when clear, it generously provides for the people.

This is true benevolence for a nation,
That neglect has ravaged for ages.
Long neglected and humiliated.

It would have escaped the despoiler and the colonizer.
It would have been saved from the extortioner and colonizer.

The twin Farqad stars in harmony and alliance,
Unite the two graves in alliance and cooperation,
And in guiding the insight of the enlightened.
To guide the enlightened conscience.

You chose, within what those two laid out and perfected,
What they founded you carried on perfectly,
A path worthy of an altruist's trial.
Ways worthy of the appreciative emulator.

And you followed their example within your means; and
You followed their example proportionately, and with,
At the heart of sound judgment is generosity with what is at hand.
The essence of wisdom, generosity when possible.
فَإِلَيْكَso to you مِنِّيfrom me يَاO عَلِيُّAli قِلادَةًa necklace

لَوْ جُسمَتْ أَزْرَتْ قِلادَ الجَوْهَرِ
So here, Ali, is a necklace from me,
So to you I present a necklace from me, O Ali,
Which, if made tangible, would put jeweled necklaces to shame.
Were it embodied, it would weigh down necks of pearls.

لِجَمَالِ فِعْلِكَ لا لِحُسْنِ تَصَوُّرِي
I fashioned it, but the credit for its creation
I pictured it in honor of your deed, not the beauty,
Goes to the beauty of your deed, not the grace of my imagining.
Of my imagination.

What preoccupies every thinker's mind.
