Sit with me, O my companions, to drink,
My friends, sit with me again for drink,
And bring back to me the illusion of youth,
And bring back to me the illusion of youth,
فِيin المَكَانِthe place الَّذِيwhich أَلِفْنَاهُwe knew it well قَبلاًbefore

In the place we knew so well before,
In the place we were used to long ago,
And with the same youthful playfulness as of old.
And like what has passed of companionship.
وَلْنُوَدِّعْand let us bid farewell تِلْكَthose المَعَاهِدَthe familiar haunts تُوْدِيعَa farewell

And let us bid those familiar haunts farewell
Let us bid farewell to those places of ours
As honored guests do when they depart.
Like noble guests when they depart.
