As for Khalil, his virtues refuse
No equal to him.

Two kindred stems, joined by a bond,
Two images joined in a necklace
A bond consecrated today;
That is consecrated this day in marriage

The bridal pair's day is happiness;
As this day of the two newlyweds, a joy
So may a lifetime of happiness follow it.
To be made everlasting by life's course,

And may they both enjoy life, free
And may they gain from existence only
Of all that taints it, and full of ease.
The sweetness unmarred by bitterness and trouble
