In the East there is no prayer but this
In the East there is no other prayer
For the revered, beloved king.
For the revered beloved king

Ferial's festival surpasses what artistry can achieve
Farial's celebration transcends all eloquence
In a poet's or an orator's description.
In describing a poet or orator
أَيُّwhat بِدْعٍwonder إِذَاif تَلَقَّتْهُwelcomed it مِصْرٌEgypt

Is it any wonder if it is welcomed by Egypt
What blessing when Egypt receives it
And her sons, with cheer and welcome?
And her children with joy and welcome
هُوَit عِيدُthe festival الإِحْسَانِcharity فِيin كُلِّevery مَعْنَىًsense

It is the feast of benevolence in every sense
And the joy of the deprived and the dispossessed.
And the joy of the deprived and troubled
فَتْحُopening هَذَاthis الجَنَاحِthe wing للشَّعْبِto the people فِيهِin it
أَيُّwhat a فَتْحٍtriumph وَأَيُّand what a نَصْرٍvictory قَرِيبِnear
In opening this wing to the people lies
The opening of this wing for the people in it
Such a triumph, and such a victory close at hand!
What conquest and what near victory

Yusuf the beneficent built it in the name of Sam'an,
Youssef of goodness founded it in Semaan's name
His father; and God is the best of those who reward.
His father's, and God is best rewarder

The Crescent's banner fluttered over it,
The crescent banner fluttered over it
The banner of sincerity in the struggle against calamities.
The banner of truth in the struggle of adversities
لَيْسَthere is not فيin ظِلِّهَاits shade اختِلافٌdiscord وَكُلٌّand everyone
آخِذٌtaking مِنْfrom حَنَانِهَاits compassion بِنَصِيبِa share
There is no discord in its shade, and everyone
In its shade there is no disagreement and each
Receives a share of its compassion.
Takes of its affection a share
وُحِّدَتْwas unified فيin اَحْمِرَارِهَاits redness صِبْغَةُhue البِرِّcharity
فَلَوْنُso the color الْهِلاَلِthe crescent لُوْنُthe color الصَّلِيبِthe cross
In its redness, charity's hue was made one;
In its redness the dye of righteousness was united
So the Crescent's color is the Cross's color.
For the crescent's color is the cross's color

Long live Egypt, and long live Egypt's people!
May Egypt live and may the people of Egypt live
It is indeed the finest example for the nations.
It is the best role model for nations
