قَدْindeed رَكِبْناwe braved الأهْوَالَthe terrors وَالأَخْطَارَاand the dangers
وَنزَحْنَاand we emigrated وَمَاand not بَرِحْنَاwe left الدِّيَارَاthe homeland
We have braved terrors and dangers,
We have ridden perils and dangers
And we have emigrated, yet have not left our homeland.
And migrated, yet not left our homes
هَهُنَاhere أَهْلُنَاour kin وَفِينَاand within us قلُوبٌhearts
لَمْdid not تَحُلَintervene بَيْنَهَاbetween them الرُّبَىthe hills وَالصَّحَارَىand the deserts
Our kin are here, and within us are hearts
Unsevered by the wastes between
That hills and deserts have not kept apart.
