حَيُّواSalute الإِمَامِthe imam الحَقِّtrue فِيin الإِسْلامِIslam
حَيُّوا الإِمَامِ الحَقِّ فِي الإِسْلامِ
مَاnot كُلُّevery مُؤْتَمٍّone taken as a leader بِهِhim as a guide بِإِمَامِan imam
مَا كُلُّ مُؤْتَمٍّ بِهِ بِإِمَامِ
Salute the true imam in Islam.
Greet the Imam of truth in Islam
Not everyone taken as a leader is an imam.
Not everyone who is followed is an Imam
حَيُّواSalute الأَمِينَthe trustworthy one المُصْطَفَىthe chosen one مِنfrom رِبهِhis Lord
حَيُّوا الأَمِينَ المُصْطَفَى مِن رِبهِ
لِمُهِمَّةٍfor a mission جُلَّىmomentous وَشَأَنٍand a role سَامِlofty
لِمُهِمَّةٍ جُلَّى وَشَأَنٍ سَامِ
Salute the trustworthy one, chosen by his Lord
Greet the trusted chosen one from his Lord
For a momentous mission and a lofty role.
For an important task and high status
مَاhow أَحْوَجَgreatly in need الأَقْوَامَthe peoples إِنْif سَدَرُواthey wander heedlessly إِلَىof
مَا أَحْوَجَ الأَقْوَامَ إِنْ سَدَرُوا إِلَى
أَهْلِpeople of الصَّلاحِrighteousness مَنَائِرَbeacons الأَقْوَامِthe peoples
أَهْلِ الصَّلاحِ مَنَائِرَ الأَقْوَامِ
How sorely the peoples, if they stray, need
How much nations need, if gone astray
The righteous, beacons of the peoples!
People of righteousness, lights of peoples
مَاhow أَظْمَأَthirsty الأَرْضَيْنِthe lands إِنْif لَمْnot يَرْوِهَاwater them
مَا أَظْمَأَ الأَرْضَيْنِ إِنْ لَمْ يَرْوِهَا
مَاwhat تُسْتَدَرُّare made to yield شَوَامِخُtowering peaks الأَعلامِof the mountains
مَا تُسْتَدَرُّ شَوَامِخُ الأَعلامِ
How thirsty the lands are, if they are not watered
How thirsty are the two worlds, if not watered
By what is drawn from the towering mountain peaks!
By the towering heights of flags
