لَقَد تركت لدارٍ ثَمَّ اعظَم
The homes of Makarios and the family of Nimr
The abodes of Makarios and the family of Nemer,
she has indeed left for a greater abode there,
You have left for an even greater abode.
وابقتand she left بعدهاafter her الاطفالthe children تَبكيweeping
وابقت بعدها الاطفال تَبكي
مُصاباًa calamity عندfor أَهليهاher kin تجسمgrew immense
مُصاباً عند أَهليها تجسم
and left the children behind her, weeping
And after you the children cry,
over a calamity that loomed large for her kin.
Afflicted, your form embodied at home.
يَنوحُmourns صَبآءَهاher youth التَهذيبُrefinement حزناًin sorrow
يَنوحُ صَبآءَها التَهذيبُ حزناً
وَيَبكيهاand weeps for her التُقىpiety بمدامعwith tears of الدَمblood
وَيَبكيها التُقى بمدامع الدَم
Refinement mourns her youth in sorrow,
Refinement mourns you with the tears of mist,
and piety weeps for her with tears of blood.
And piety weeps for you with tears of blood.
فانso if تنظمyou compose لَهاfor her تأريخَa chronogram of حَينٍdeath
فان تنظم لَها تأريخَ حَينٍ
فقلthen say انَّindeed الالهَGod اختارchose مَريَمMaryam
فقل انَّ الالهَ اختار مَريَم
So if you compose a chronogram for her death,
If you would compose for it a date in time,
then say: "Indeed, God has chosen Maryam."
