The birds of delight have sung in a garden
The birds of intimacy have sung in a meadow
Of joys, in the most splendid bloom.
Of joys, in its most splendid blossoming,

And the mouth of gladness breaks into a joyful smile
And the lips of mortals part with delight
When they sang—how sweet its smile!
At their singing—how sweet is their parting!

They sang of the full moon when a sun met him,
The full moon has vied with the sun
And the two had been joined together in the finest abode.

They recited their chronogram about him and said:
And recounted its date, saying:
To you, from us, congratulations on the glad tidings.
"We give you the glad tidings, good news!"
