of nights of union with her at al-Raqmatayn.

Of nights when we were joined by the two eights

كلانا ناظرٌ قمراً ولكن

رأَيتُ بعينها وَرأَت بعيني

We both gaze upon a moon, and yet

We both gazed at a moon, but

I saw with her eye, and she saw with mine.
