لَقَدindeed لَؤمhas become base الورىhumankind حتىّeven المصلىthe worshipper
لَقَد لَؤم الورى حتىّ المصلى
ليَشرِطُindeed stipulates أَنthat يَفيهِpay him in full اللَهGod أَجرَهhis reward
ليَشرِطُ أَن يَفيهِ اللَه أَجرَه
Indeed, humanity has grown so base that even the worshipper
The people of this age have become so base
stipulates that God pay him his reward in full.
That one who prays demands reward for his faith.
وَكادand nearly الناسpeople لوif حيَّيتَهمyou greeted them لاnot
وَكاد الناس لو حيَّيتَهم لا
يردُّونreturn التَحيَّةthe greeting دونwithout أُجرَهa fee
يردُّون التَحيَّة دون أُجرَه
And people, if you greeted them, would scarcely
If you were to greet them, they would scarcely reply
return the greeting without a fee.
Without demanding payment for the courtesy.
