في اللحد هدلا المقدسيُّ توسَّدت
فجرتand flowed عليهاover her ادمعtears الاجفانِthe eyelids
فجرت عليها ادمع الاجفانِ
In the grave, Hadla al-Maqdisi laid her head,
And tears from the eyes streamed over her.
فكتبتُso I wrote فيin تأريخهاher chronogram ارقامهُits numerals
فكتبتُ في تأريخها ارقامهُ
ناجcooed الحمامُthe doves علىon غُصَينa little branch البانِthe bān tree
ناج الحمامُ على غُصَين البانِ
So I wrote the numerals of her chronogram:
The doves cooed on a little branch of the bān tree.
