Constantine departed to God, taking along

Deeds of piety with him, goodness, and right guidance.

A branch that death bent while still in bloom,

Thus leaving every heart in grief after his passing.

The sons of al-Tawa wept tears of blood for him,

With every eyelid forever raw with blood.

Until he died, he remained holding fast to God,

Clinging to His rope, he appeared reaching out toward God.

So cease weeping when you date his passing:

When he departed, he did not die, but fell asleep.
