And many a beloved to me is an enemy
cease to be sweet to him, while he remains bitter to me.
Whose sweetness endures, while his bitterness for me unceasingly flows
أَراهُI see him حَبيباًa beloved ليto me اذاwhen الضرَّthe harm رمتُهُI sought it
أَراهُ حَبيباً لي اذا الضرَّ رمتُهُ
لَهُfor him وعدوّاand an enemy ليto me اذاwhen رامhe sought ليfor me ضرّاharm
لَهُ وعدوّا لي اذا رام لي ضرّا
I see him as a beloved of mine when I seek harm
I see him as a beloved when harm strikes me
for him, and as my enemy when he seeks harm for me.
As an enemy when he plots my woes
