I have placed this likeness of mine in your hands,
This ideal example in your hand I have made
As a sign that my heart is likewise there.

هوَit نائبيmy representative يَرنواليكَgazes at you بعينهِwith its eye
هوَ نائبي يَرنواليكَ بعينهِ
واناand I بِقَلبيwith my heart فيin البعادseparation اراكاI see you
وانا بِقَلبي في البعاد اراكا
It is my representative, gazing at you with its eye,
It is my deputy that looks to you with its eye
And I, with my heart, see you from afar.
