بالشمس في برج سعدٍ زاهرٍ زاهِ
Splendid is the wedding—the full moon's wedding, united
What a glorious wedding, the full moon married
with the sun in a radiant, resplendent sign of good fortune.
To the sun in an auspicious and splendid constellation
لاحتِshone forth بِهِin it طالعاتrising lights الانسdelight سافرةًunveiling
لاحتِ بِهِ طالعات الانس سافرةً
عَنfrom كلevery وَجهٍface بَديعٍwondrous باهِرٍdazzling باهِradiant
عَن كل وَجهٍ بَديعٍ باهِرٍ باهِ
There, delight's rising lights shone, unveiling
The stars of mankind shone joyfully
every wondrous, dazzling, radiant face.
On every beautiful, splendid, and glorious face
وغرَّدتand warbled صادحاتsongbirds البشرgladness منشدةchanting
وغرَّدت صادحات البشر منشدة
منfrom فوقatop غصنthe bough of البهاsplendor والعزّand honor وَالجاهِand prestige
من فوق غصن البها والعزّ وَالجاهِ
And the songbirds of gladness warbled, chanting
And the heralds of mankind sang loudly
from atop the bough of splendor, honor, and prestige,
From atop the branches of splendor, might, and glory
علىat زفافكyour wedding تأريخاًa chronogram لمطلعهِfor its dawning
على زفافك تأريخاً لمطلعهِ
ياO نعمةNi‘mat (name; literally blessing) اللَهAllah (part of the name) حلَّتhas descended نعمةthe blessing of اللَهِGod
يا نعمة اللَه حلَّت نعمة اللَهِ
at your wedding, a chronogram to mark its dawning:
For your wedding is the dawning of an era
O Ni‘mat Allah, God's blessing has descended!
O God's gift, God's gift has descended
