ناحَتlamented عيونthe eyes of بَنيthe sons of فركوحَFarkouh بعدafter فَتىًa young man
ناحَت عيون بَني فركوحَ بعد فَتىً
وارتهُconcealed him عنهمfrom them بطيّin the folds of التُربthe earth اكفانُshrouds
وارتهُ عنهم بطيّ التُرب اكفانُ
The eyes of the sons of Farkouh wept at the loss of a young man,
The eyes of the sons of Farquh weep after a youth
whom shrouds concealed from them in the folds of the earth.
Whose garment was covered with dust as a shroud
قَدindeed كانَhe was بينamong الملاthe people ركناًa pillar هوىhe fell فهوتand so fell
قَد كانَ بين الملا ركناً هوى فهوت
منfrom بعدِهِafter him للعلىfor glory والبرّand righteousness اركانُpillars
من بعدِهِ للعلى والبرّ اركانُ
He had been a pillar among the people; he fell, and down fell
He was a pillar of love among the nobles and he has fallen
after him, pillars of glory and righteousness.
After him, pillars of virtue and righteousness fell
مضىhe departed الىto رحمةthe mercy of الغفّارthe All-Forgiving مبتدراًhastening
مضى الى رحمة الغفّار مبتدراً
فضمَّهُand embraced him فيin نعيمthe bliss of الخلدeternity رضوانRidwan
فضمَّهُ في نعيم الخلد رضوان
He departed, hastening to the mercy of the All-Forgiving,
He went seeking the mercy of the Forgiving One
and Ridwan embraced him in eternal bliss.
So He embraced him in the bliss of eternity
نالhe attained المُنىthe wishes حَسبَaccording to تأريخٍa chronogram يُقالis said بِهِin it
نال المُنى حَسبَ تأريخٍ يُقال بِهِ
قدindeed نلتَyou have attained ماwhat تَتَمنّىyou desire ياO سليمانُSulayman
قد نلتَ ما تَتَمنّى يا سليمانُ
He attained his wishes, according to a chronogram that says:
He attained death according to a date that is said
Indeed, you have attained what you desire, O Sulayman.
You have attained what you wish, O Solomon
