قَدmay يَعكُسَturn contrary الامرُthe matter اذاwhen شئتَyou wish انto
قَد يَعكُسَ الامرُ اذا شئتَ ان
تصلحَهُset it right ثمَّthen يدورturns المَدارthe course
تصلحَهُ ثمَّ يدور المَدار
A matter may go awry when you wish to
The matter may be reversed if you wish
set it right; then the course turns around.
to rectify it, then the cycle turns
أماdo ... not تَرىyou see المآءَthe water لدىupon رَشِّهِsprinkling it
أما تَرى المآءَ لدى رَشِّهِ
فيat بادئِthe beginning of الامرthe matter يُثيرstirs up الغبارthe dust
في بادئِ الامر يُثير الغبار
Do you not see how water, when sprinkled,
Do you not see the water when sprinkled
stirs up dust at the outset?
at first it raises dust
والغصنand the branch انif اوَّدَتهُyou bend it تلوِهِyou twist it
والغصن ان اوَّدَتهُ تلوِهِ
لِلجهَةtoward the side الأُخرىthe other منfrom الإِنهضارthe breaking
لِلجهَة الأُخرى من الإِنهضار
And if you bend the branch, you twist it
And if you bend the branch to train it
toward the side opposite the break.
it will grow towards the other side with vitality
