ولطولِand for the length of الضَّنىwasting sickness وَهذاand this الهُجوعِslumber
They exposed me for my sigh and my tears,
You will be my sigh and my tears
And for my long wasting sickness and this slumber,
And for my prolonged grief and this anguish
ولِوجدٍand for a longing أقامَhas lingered مُذsince غبتَyou were absent عنهfrom it
لكَfor you بينَbetween الحشاthe heart وبينَand between الضلوعِthe ribs
And for a longing that has lingered since you left it,
And for passion that remained since you departed
For you, between my heart and my ribs.
For you between enthusiam and ribs

Do you think, if the lovelorn one day hides himself
Do you think tears will conceal one day
Behind tears, a veil of tears will avail?
With tears that conceal tears
ياO بَديعاًwondrous one ماnot يَرجعُturns back الطرفُthe eye عنهُfrom him
أنif (in context) رآهit saw him إلاexcept بِوجدٍwith a longing بَديعِwondrous
O wondrous one, the eye never turns away from him,
Oh wonderful, the gaze does not turn away from it
Once it has seen him, save with a wondrous longing.
Unless it saw it with wonderful passion
