أيُّهاO you المالكُthe owner ليof me صِلshow affection to مدنفاًa lovesick man

يفضُلُ المَولى على من مَلَكا
O you who own me, show affection to a lovesick man.

Ask my heart, O you who wrong me,

which path it has taken in love.

إنif يَدمpersists ماwhat بيis in me أقلI shall say وانَدماalas, my regret!
إن يَدم ما بي أقل وانَدما
