One eye is sleepless, and the other sheds tears.

And a love-stricken man, wasted by illness, is enthralled by thoughts of you.

O you who take pride in the radiance of your beauty, and whose

Charms have come to harm and help.

If you had pity on one in pain and wasting with illness,

You would have pitied me, for I am the sorrowful, suffering one.

Reproach has gone on long, so I do not say to my reproacher:

“Say what you will, for I do not listen.”
