ياO رَحمتاpity للعاشِقيناfor the lovers
يا رَحمتا للعاشِقينا
ماnot إنreinforces the negation أرَىI see لهمfor them مُعيناa helper
ما إن أرَى لهم مُعينا
Oh, pity for the lovers!
O mercy for lovers
I see no helper for them.
Whenever I see supporter for them
كمhow often يَهجُرونَthey forsake ويعذلوand they rebuke (continued)
كم يَهجُرونَ ويعذلو
نَending completing 'they rebuke' ويجزعونَand they grieve فيَنحلوناand so they waste away
نَ ويجزعونَ فيَنحلونا
How often they forsake and rebuke,
How much they abandon and are wronged
and grieve, and so waste away.
And they grieve and so they fade away
وتراهمُand you see them مِماbecause of what بهِمafflicts them
وتراهمُ مِما بهِم
بينَamong البريةِhumankind خاشِعيناhumbled
بينَ البريةِ خاشِعينا
And you see them, because of what afflicts them,
And you see them among what they have
humbled among humankind.
Humbled in the wilderness
يتحملونَthey endure ويُظهروand they display (continued)
يتحملونَ ويُظهرو
نَending completing 'they display' تجلُّداًfortitude للشامتيناto those who gloat
نَ تجلُّداً للشامتينا
They endure and display
They endure and show
fortitude before those who gloat.
