هبforgive للهوىfor love's sake ذنبيmy fault بطولِon account of the length of التعَبthe suffering
O you who turn away, why this anger?
O you who turn away, why the anger?
For love's sake, forgive my fault on account of my long suffering.
My sin to passion is but hardship long
أماDo you not ترانيsee me دنفاًlovesick هائماًdistraught
وجداًin longing بمنfor one who صارbecame منيof me واحتجبand hid himself
Do you not see me lovesick and distraught,
Do you not see me, lost and wandering,
longing for one who became part of me and hid away?
Burning with love for one who shuns my song?
ياO واحداًone without equal فيin الحسنِbeauty طالَhas lasted long الهوىlove
والشوقُand longing إذas طالَhas grown long إليكَtoward you الطلَبthe quest
O you peerless in beauty, love has lasted long,
O matchless in beauty, desire grew long
and longing too, as the quest for you has grown long.
And longing, as it lengthened, swelled my wrong
عَدمتُI am bereft للصبرِfor patience علىdespite أنthe fact that ليI have
قلباًa heart قريحاwounded بكby you داميbleeding الندبscars
I am bereft of patience, although I have
I thought that I could patient remain
a heart wounded by you, its scars bleeding.
But find my heart is pierced with lasting pain
