ياO وحيدَpeerless الجمالِin beauty عندَin the esteem of القلوبِhearts
يا وحيدَ الجمالِ عندَ القلوبِ
وحقيقاًand worthy بالمنظرِof the appearance المحبوبِbeloved
وحقيقاً بالمنظرِ المحبوبِ
O you peerless in beauty in the hearts' esteem,
O you alone in beauty in the hearts
And worthy of being lovingly beheld,
And truly with the appearance, the beloved
وبديعَand wondrous المثالِin form معتدلَwell-proportioned القدstature (continued next line)
وبديعَ المثالِ معتدلَ القد
دِcompletion of 'stature' ملياًabounding بكلin every حسنٍbeauty وطيبِand sweetness
دِ ملياً بكل حسنٍ وطيبِ
And wondrous in form, well-proportioned in stature,
And the excellent example, well-proportioned of stature
Abounding in every beauty and sweetness.
Completely with every beauty and goodness
رَوضةٌa garden للعيونfor the eyes أشرقَshone منهاfrom it
رَوضةٌ للعيون أشرقَ منها
بهجةُsplendor الحسنِof beauty واعتدالُand the uprightness القضيبِof the bough
بهجةُ الحسنِ واعتدالُ القضيبِ
A garden for the eyes, from which shone
A garden for the eyes which from it has shone
Beauty's splendor and the bough's upright grace.
The delight of beauty and the uprightness of the youth
حظthe share عينيof my eye منfrom أنthat تراكَit sees you سُهادٌsleeplessness
حظ عيني من أن تراكَ سُهادٌ
واتصالٌand constant association بعَبرةٍwith a tear ونحيبِand sobbing
واتصالٌ بعَبرةٍ ونحيبِ
My eye's share in seeing you is sleeplessness,
My eye's fortune from seeing you happy
And constant company with tears and sobbing.
And joining with a tear and lament
وأرانيand I find myself إذاwhen الهوىpassion بعثroused الشوlonging (continued next line)
وأراني إذا الهوى بعث الشو
قَcompletion of 'longing' تلقيتهُI received it بقلبٍwith a heart كئيبِsorrowful
قَ تلقيتهُ بقلبٍ كئيبِ
And I find myself, when passion rouses longing,
And I see myself when passion arouses ardency
Receiving it with a sorrowful heart.
I meet it with a sad heart
