O wondrous in beauty, will you not have
O most sublime in beauty, do you see
mercy on my heart for its love of you?
How my heart burns with love for you?

Do you see what I suffer from love
Do you know how much love for you
for you—by God who fashioned you?
I have, by God may He bless you?

You slept, heedless of my night and what kept
You slept, unconcerned about me,
my eyes awake—so may your sleep be sweet to you!
While my eyes knew no rest.
