وبلائي من حُبِّ غيرِ رَحيمِ
O my sickness from the languor of a languid gaze!
My sickness from the sickness of a sick glance,
And my affliction from loving one without mercy!
And my affliction from the love of one unkind.

حانِ يهتزُّ في كثيبِ نعيمِ
A sun of beauty upon a stem of basil,
The sun of beauty on a slender branches shakes,
Swaying amid a dune of bliss.
When it moves on the high dunes of bliss.

قِ إليهِ والوَجدِ ليلُ السليمِ
Since he vanished, my eye’s night, from fierce longing
Since your eyes have gone, the night of mine,
For him and passion, is the night of one snake-bitten.
Is sleepless with desire and constant ache.

Love-stricken, love-enslaved, and sorrowful,
Lovesick, infatuated, in misery,
From departing slumber and abiding tears.
From the wounds of yearning and ever-flowing tears.
