ياO صَباحَmorning الحَبيبِthe beloved كيفَhow نَراكاwe see you
إنif تكُنyou are صالِحاًwell فدُمتَthen may you remain كَذاكاlike that
O morning of the beloved, how do we behold you?
O morning of the beloved, how do we see you
If you are well, may you remain so.
If you are well, may you stay that way
نمتُI slept بالجسمِin the body لاnot بجسمكَin your body مماbecause of what
لاnot أرىI see ماwhat أحبُّI love حتىuntil أراكاI see you
I slept in body, not in yours, for
I slept with my body, not with your body, from what
I see nothing I love until I see you.
I do not see what I love until I see you

So let sickness be mine; whatever it has made me drink
So sickness will be in me what quenched me
Of wasting illness, I do not weary of it; it has not made you drink it.
From the thirst that I do not hope what quenched you
