أيا قمراً تحتَهُ شعبةٌ

أيا قمراً تحتَهُ شعبةٌ

من البانِ تَهتزُ ريا ولينا

من البانِ تَهتزُ ريا ولينا

O moon, beneath you is a bough

O moon under whom a branch

of the moringa tree, swaying lush and supple.

Of coconut palm gently sways

وَيا فِتنةً عِندَ أَهلِ الفُتونِ

وَيا فِتنةً عِندَ أَهلِ الفُتونِ

وَيا محنةَ اللَه للمتقينا

وَيا محنةَ اللَه للمتقينا

And O temptation among those versed in seduction,

O seduction in the eyes of the immoral

and O God's trial for the God-fearing.

O God's test for the devout

حويتَ الهوى وقلوبَ الأنا

حويتَ الهوى وقلوبَ الأنا

مِ حتى ملكتهُم أجمعينا

مِ حتى ملكتهُم أجمعينا

You have encompassed passion and the hearts of human-

You've carried love and people's hearts

kind, until you possessed them all.

Until you've ruled them all
