من هوىً لا ينامُ بينَ الضلوعِ
My sigh eased the flow of tears,
My sighs made tears flow
From a love that never sleeps between the ribs.
From a passion that does not sleep between the ribs

أيُّ عينٍ تقرُّ بعدَ الهُجوعِ
I have no tear with which to weep for my slumber;
I have no tears to shed so I weep for my sleeplessness
What eye finds comfort after sleep?
What eye can see clearly after weeping?
