ما بثهُ في دنفٍ يسقمُه
Love wears down whoever keeps it hidden.
Love wears out those who conceal it
What it spreads in a lovesick person sickens him.
Not divulging it makes one fall ill

You signaled with a languid gaze; still
My listless eyes have not stopped

Seeking arrows from those who see them

إلا من الوَجدِ بِمن يكلمُه
Neither the heart nor its patience was lost,
Neither heart nor patience remain

Humbled, with none to take pity
