Let it be in my body, not yours, O ailing one.

And a little pain is enough for me.

May sickness pass you by and come to me, for I,

despite what ails me, can bear its customary ways.

If you, my hope, are healthy,

then may wasting ally itself with me and leave you in peace.

Are you not the brother of what my ribs enclose,

though your illness makes me the ailing one?
