صَبرتُ وإنَّ الصبر عنك عسيرُ

صَبرتُ وإنَّ الصبر عنك عسيرُ

وموتُ محبٍّ في هواكَ يسيرُ

وموتُ محبٍّ في هواكَ يسيرُ

I have endured, though enduring without you is hard;

I was patient, though patience towards you is difficult,

And a lover's death for love of you is easy.

And death for a lover because of passion for you is easy.

أما رحمت عيناك من في فؤاده

أما رحمت عيناك من في فؤاده

عليكَ غليلٌ دائمٌ وزفيرُ

عليكَ غليلٌ دائمٌ وزفيرُ

Have your eyes not pitied one whose heart

Won't your eyes show mercy to one whose heart

Holds ceaseless burning longing for you and sighs?

Holds constant agony and sighing because of you?

وكسرةُ جفنٍ ما تكادُ تقلهُ

وكسرةُ جفنٍ ما تكادُ تقلهُ

وفترة طرفٍ ما تكادُ تدورُ

وفترة طرفٍ ما تكادُ تدورُ

And the droop of an eyelid you can scarcely lift,

And the wakefulness of an eyelid that can barely rest,

And the languor of a gaze that scarcely turns?

And the weakness of an eye that can hardly turn.

لأنت الذي ما إن أرى لك مشبها

لأنت الذي ما إن أرى لك مشبها

كما ما لمن يهواكَ فيه نظيرُ

كما ما لمن يهواكَ فيه نظيرُ

Indeed, you are the one whose like I do not see,

For you have no equal, when I look

Just as the one who loves you has no equal in that love.

At those who love you, you have no peer.
