هَبgrant لِعينيto my eye الرقادَslumber ياO مَنyou who ينامُsleep
هَب لِعيني الرقادَ يا مَن ينامُ
إنَّindeed جَفنيmy eyelid مِماbecause of what بهِis in it لاnot ينامُsleeps
إنَّ جَفني مِما بهِ لا ينامُ
Grant my eye slumber, O you who sleep.
Indeed, my eyelid cannot sleep for what afflicts it.
فلطولِso for prolonged البكاءِweeping عَينيmy eye ولِلزفand for the sigh (word continues)
فلطولِ البكاءِ عَيني ولِلزف
رةِcompletion of 'sigh' جسمٌa body أتىhas come عليهِupon it السقامُsickness
رةِ جسمٌ أتى عليهِ السقامُ
So my eye is for long weeping, and for sighing,
a body that sickness has overtaken.
