Reveals his intention deliberately.
ماnot لمنfor one who حظwas fortunate بوجهٍwith a face
ما لمن حظ بوجهٍ
حسنٍbeautiful أنto يتعدىoverstep the bounds
حسنٍ أن يتعدى
No one blessed with a face
So fair has the right to overstep.
زاهدٌindifferent فيtoward me وقدand already نقI stinted him (first fragment)
زاهدٌ في وقد نق
قصتهI stinted him (final fragment) وداًaffection ووجداand longing
قصته وداً ووجدا
He is indifferent to me, and I have given him
Less affection and longing.
إنماonly تفعلyou do ماwhat تفyou do (first fragment)
إنما تفعل ما تف
علُyou do (final fragment) بيto me منof ذاكthat عمداdeliberately
علُ بي من ذاك عمدا
You only do what you—
Do to me in that way deliberately.
