كُنbe كيفَhowever شِئتَyou wish فإنَّنيfor indeed I لاnot أقصرُdesist
لاno قلبَheart ليfor me فبأيِّso with what شيٍthing أصبرُI endure
Be as you wish, for I will not desist.
Be as you wish, for I do not fall short
I have no heart; with what, then, can I endure?
I have no heart, so with what could I have patience?

I am the one you see bowing to something other than your beauty,
I am the one you see humbled before anyone but your beauty
O you arrogant, swaggering one.
O you arrogant and haughty one
وبهاءُby the splendor وجهكَyour face أيُّهاyou (vocative) القمرُthe moon الذيwhom

By the splendor of your face, O moon whom
The brilliance of your face, O moon
the full moon of night envies and is outshone by,
The full moon of night envies and pales before it
إنِّيindeed I لتشهدُsurely bears witness ليfor me بحبكَto love for you زفرةٌa sigh
بَينَbetween الضلوعِthe ribs وعبرةٌand a tear تتحدَّرُtrickles down
indeed, a sigh bears witness to my love for you,
Indeed my sighs between my ribs testify to my love for you
between my ribs, and a tear that trickles down.
And tears flow down
